Towns and cities

Our closest town is the Victorian seaside town of Silloth. Just four miles away from the park, the town offers a host of things to enjoy, including shops and annual events and coastal walks.

If you fancy venturing a bit further, the city of Carlisle (technically the biggest city in the UK, as it covers a whopping 1,040 square kilometres of land – despite its actual centre being reasonably small!) is just a 40-minute drive up the road, and boasts its own selection of attractions and entertainment.
