So, you’ve purchased one of our holiday lodges for sale in the Lake District – congratulations!
Not only are you now the owner of your very own home from home in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, but you have also opened the door to infinite opportunities for fantastic holiday memories, whether you visit alone, or with friends or family.
So, how can you make the most of your many, many upcoming stays here at North Lakes Country Park? Below, we’ve shared some of our and our current holiday homeowners’ favourite attractions and things to do in the local area and beyond to get you started…
5 ways to make the most of your stay at North Lakes:
1. Soak up our on-site delights
Before you even consider what lies beyond North Lakes, we’d highly recommend exploring what’s available right on your doorstep!
This will predominantly centre around our breath-taking 22-acre lake, 55 acres of wildlife-filled woodland and open areas, and staggering, mountainous surroundings.
We are in fact known as the Lake District’s hidden gem – so when you come to visit, you can be sure you’ll have plenty to enjoy before you venture beyond the borders of the park!
2. Put your explorer hat on
One of the many reasons people consider holiday lodges for sale in the Lake District is because of the plethora of beautiful sites and attractions they can access – and this couldn’t be truer at North Lakes!
Just an hour’s drive away from us will take you past some of the Lake District’s most famous lakes, including Windermere, Ullswater and Bassenthwaite Lake, and even closer by is the stunning Victorian seaside town of Silloth, which you can learn more about in our blog.
3. Take the opportunity to truly relax
As well as being the perfect place to go on adventures, North Lakes also provides easy access to the Lake District’s most leisurely spots.
Sandylands Pool and Spa is a firm favourite among our holiday homeowners, and the ideal place for a bit of relaxation!
Only one mile away from the park, Sandylands has a beautiful indoor swimming pool and hot tub area. If you’re looking to get away from it all, read a book and simply relax, then Sandylands is the place to be.
4. Tingle your tastebuds at local eateries and watering holes
One of the best parts of going on holiday is getting to try out different foods and drinks – and North Lakes is right next to some of the most delectable places in the county.
We’ve mentioned a number of these on our Things To Do page, but the Gincase is definitely our favourite. Only two miles from your lodge at North Lakes Country Park, this attraction is perfect for both adults and children – despite the name, it’s less about gin and more about family fun!
Equipped with tearoom, mini petting farm, craft barn and gift shop you can visit come rain or shine, you’ll be sure to have a great time there.
5. Get active!
As well as walking around the park and exploring other attractions nearby, there’re plenty of things you can do to keep active during your stay at North Lakes.
Silloth Golf Club, for example, is renowned as one of the best links golf courses in Cumbria. Located on the banks of the Solway Firth, the course is challenging and in superb condition. We are only four miles from the course, and our park is a great base for a golfing weekend away.
