Not only are you now the owner of your very own home from home in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, but you’ve opened the door to infinite opportunities for fantastic holiday memories, whether you visit alone or with loved ones..

So, how can you make the most of your many, many upcoming stays here at North Lakes Country Park? Below, we’ve shared some of our and our current holiday homeowners’ favourite attractions and things to do in the local area and beyond to get you started…

5 ways to make the most of your stay at North Lakes:

1. Soak up our on-site delights

Before you even consider what lies beyond North Lakes, we’d highly recommend exploring what’s available right on your doorstep!

Explore our breath-taking 22-acre lake, 55 acres of wildlife-filled woodland and open areas, and staggering, mountainous surroundings, or simply enjoy the evening on your bespoke, hand-made decking.

We are in fact known as the Lake District’s hidden gem, so when you come to visit, you can be sure you’ll have plenty to enjoy before you venture beyond the borders of the park!

2. Put your explorer hat on

One of holiday lodges for sale the main benefits of purchasing a holiday home in the Lake District is of the plethora of beautiful sites and attractions that are just on your doorstep – and this couldn’t be truer at North Lakes!

An hour’s drive away from us will take you past some of the Lake District’s most famous lakes, including Windermere, Ullswater and Bassenthwaite Lake. We’re also a few minutes away from the stunning Victorian seaside town of Silloth, which you can learn more about in our blog.

3. Take the opportunity to truly relax

As well as being the perfect place to go on adventures, North Lakes also provides easy access to the Lake District’s most leisurely spots.

Sandylands Pool and Spa is a firm favourite among our holiday homeowners, and the ideal place for a bit of relaxation!

Only one mile away from the park, Sandylands has a beautiful indoor swimming pool and hot tub area. If you’re looking to get away from it all, read a book and simply relax, then Sandylands is the place to be.

4. Tingle your tastebuds at local eateries and watering holes

One of the best parts of going on holiday is getting to try out different foods and drinks – and North Lakes is right next to some of the most delectable places in the county.

We’ve mentioned a number of these on our Things To Do page, but the Gincase is definitely our favourite. Only two miles from your lodge at North Lakes Country Park, this attraction is perfect for both adults and children – despite the name, it’s less about gin and more about family fun!

Equipped with a cozy tearoom, mini petting farm, craft barn and gift shop, you can visit come rain or shine and be guaranteed to have a great time there.

5. Get active!

As well as walking around the park and exploring other attractions nearby, there’re plenty of things you can do to keep active during your stay at North Lakes.

Silloth Golf Club, for example, is renowned as one of the best links golf courses in Cumbria. Located on the banks of the Solway Firth, the course is challenging and in superb condition. We are only four miles from the course, and our park is a great base for a golfing weekend away.

You can also take advantage of the natural beauty of our location and go for a stroll! The Lake District is home to many beautiful walking locations, where you can explore forests and woods or take a gentle stroll around the stunning lakes.
